brOTHER ART

My brother, Michael Hession, is also an artist and recently started his own blog called Other Art.  (Do you get my post title now??)  Below is one of his recent paintings.  To create his work he takes pictures of obscure parts of buildings and found objects in San Francisco and then draws/paints just a portion of the photo.

While his work is definitely different than mine, Michael and I love to compare notes on paint, current projects, frustrations, and the excitement of doing what we love.  I am really proud of my brother because he's gone after his passion since undergrad and has since received an MFA!

Here is a picture of me and both of my awesome brothers at my wedding in September.  The artist is on the right...

The three of you look so wonderful together!
You are such a sweet sister, and how great to have another artist in the family!

What a great post! Isn't it fun to have another family member to understand the ups and downs of what you go through?!

Wow super interesting!!! I'll be visiting you regularly.

Also I think you need to read Richard Polsky's book "I sold Andy Warhol (too soon)." As it is all about the art business and told about it from his point of view in a fiction style so its super fun and there is a plot and climax about him trying to aquire an Andy Warhol 'Fright Wig' print for a collector (as he is a dealer). Buy it! And read it, seems like you would be super interested in it.

Thanks for following me! Im following you as well.

I came across your blog through your brother's facebook... Mike and I went to junior prom together back in the day! Anyways, I love your blog and all your artwork... it's so fun! I'll be a frequent reader, and might just have to buy a painting for my kitchen! :)
